Background

CPRE is a national countryside charity working across planning, housing, nature and climate. Its network spans 42 local groups, connecting community knowledge with national campaigning and policy influence as the charity approached its hundredth year in 2026.

The challenge

CPRE's centenary created an opportunity to reach more people. The challenge was to make its collective value easier to understand, while giving new audiences a reason to care. The strategy needed to connect countryside protection with the everyday concerns of people in towns, cities and rural communities.
