Dancing Barry was an experiment to test consistent 'non-human' characters with Black Forest Labs' release of Flux Kontext.
Dancing Barry was an experiment to test consistent 'non-human' characters with Black Forest Labs' release of Flux Kontext.
I started off by creating a detailed and unique caveman character in Midjourney — making sure he had a clear style and personality. Once I had that, I loaded it into Flux Kontext and played around with making different versions of him: new poses, different facial expressions, a variety of clothes, and settings that told little stories. The goal was to see if the character still felt like the same person in every shot.
After that, I used Kling 2.1 to turn all the images into video clips, adding some movement and flow. I also created the audio track in Udio to match the feel of the visuals. Finally, I edited everything together in Davinci Resolve to polish it up and make sure the whole thing worked well as a video. It was a really useful test to see how consistent and flexible Flux Kontext can be when you're working with character-based content.
