Building a 1980s-Inspired AI Workflow: Gummy Baby Monsters TV Ad Concept
Building a 1980s-Inspired AI Workflow: Gummy Baby Monsters TV Ad Concept
The goal was to create a playful, consistent look across visuals, animation, and audio using a flexible AI-first workflow. I began by building a visual Moodboard in Midjourney, iterating through generations to lock in an authentic 80s look and feel. To achieve consistent gummy character designs, I mocked up base elements in Photoshop, then used Midjourney’s retexture tool to blend them back into the generated shots. Character transitions were crafted by generating the child scene first, then modifying features for a seamless monster transformation using Kling AI’s frame interpolation (first frame / last frame). Animated text elements were created with Krea’s Ideogram generator, adding era-appropriate typography.
For sound design, I generated the full audio track in Udio, an advanced AI music platform that creates high-quality compositions from text prompts, ideal for matching retro commercial tones. Final assembly and grading were done in Filmora, offering quick iteration and fine control over colour and timing. Throughout the process, I found combining traditional tools like Photoshop with AI models provided a much greater level of visual control—especially for consistency across frames. This project reinforced the value of blending AI creativity with hands-on design in developing short-form, stylised content.
